On Friday evening Curative turned the next page in our book; celebrating our third birthday and moving into our fourth year of making change.

Our #bibliobash set the perfect scene for many of the characters in our story to come together in all their colourful and creative ways. And, as always, the party served as a good reminder of the importance of a strong and supportive community. The night was filled with so many awesome humans, with big hearts and bigger brains, who want to use their powers for good. What could be more awesome than that?

But, whether we were picking a path, connecting the dots or checking these guys out, plenty of knowledge was dropped during our literary themed party.

And while we told stories of the past three years; the things we’d learned and the hopes we have, the resounding theme for me actually came as a bit of a surprise.

Don’t get too comfortable

Three years old, with a magical team, a strong portfolio of projects, and a broad and beautiful community of creatives and change-makers, we’re now pretty confident in our ability to do almost anything. But there has been something about the driving force of getting things off the ground and proving ourselves that has pushed our work so far.

So, with that in mind, the focus for the year ahead is to make sure we don’t get too comfortable.

We’ll continue to take on briefs that scare us. To talk about topics that others won’t. To start conversations that challenge people’s thinking.

As we write the future chapters of Curative, we’ll continue to find new ways to do things. And to always work to make this world a better place. That’s our story.
